First Year
2008-09 Season
The 2008-09 Freshman Football Team is Head Varsity Coach Zubey's first team that he will harvest all four years. It was a extremely exciting 2008-09 season for this freshman team because they went undefeated all season with 9 wins and 0 loses. Coach Cruz was the freshman coach and along with his assistant coaches they instilled hard work, determination, and the Great Saint Mary's Pride to this young group of freshmen that never looked back. Saint Mary's Football is currently rebuilding a program that had been strong for many years under the Coaching of the Great Pat Farrell with many wins and championships under his belt. Coach Zubey and his talented staff will bring the Gold back to Saint Mary's with numerous talents, a lot of determination and Great Pride.
Second Year
2009-10 Season
9-3-09 Saint Mary's Season opener was a successful victory against Sandra Day O'Connor. Even though all the guys put forth effort there are still things as a team that are in need of improvement. A lot of Saint Mary's Junior Varsity Players were required to play both ways most of the game. Their tireless efforts showed true heart. This group of guys consists of a structured foundation which is destine for great things.
9-10-09 Due to the Big rivalry between Saint Mary's and Brophy this game was extremely important to Coach Salts and the squad. The last four seasons were not so fruitful for Coach so he was delighted when his Junior Varsity Team pulled this victory to leave Brophy scoreless all four quarters. This game started out to be a dog fight because Saint Mary's JV Team was not about to hand over a victory to Brophy. All I can say is the thing that drove the squad this evening was TRUE HEART! This was a very moving game for the whole team which made us more determined to improve on our skills in order to develop a future championship team.
